Artist (*1972 in Herford)

Eva Hassmann is an accomplished and awardwinning artist, successful on many levels between film and photography. Starting out as an actress, she performed in more than 40 films and went on to study directing at UCLA, California.

Her passion for storytelling led her to create her first short film, “Mad Lane,” about a woman trying to find her way as a poetwriter in Hollywood. Soon the idea was born to capture a situation or story from movement to standstill with photography. Traveling through the United States, she portrayed women before, while, or after an escape – acted, directed, and produced by herself. Her luggage thus mainly included wigs, costumes, and props from fake blood to fake guns. Much of the intensity of her “House Wives” series comes from the fact that she made each production completely on her own, using a remote control and a tripod. She also supported the children’s charity project “Tabaluga House” in Rio de Janeiro with 3 of her works from the “24h Santa Teresa” series. Currently she is working on her first feature film, “Willie and Me” – an homage to the great country singer Willie Nelson.
